International Science and Art Festival “Ars Moriendi” holds an academic music concert “Saltatio Mortis” that allows  to explore the theme of death varied by composers from different centuries.

Concert in two parts, featuring opuses dedicated to the theme of death by Kamil Sensan, Johann Sebastian Bach, Robert Schuman, Ferenc Liszt, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Aivars Kalejs, as well as the monumental work "Totentanz" (Dance of Death) by German composer Hugo Distler.
Participants: organist, composer Aivars Kalejs, pianist Katrina Kroja, cellist Nadezhda Bardjuka and a choir, created specifically for this concert, led by conductor Vita Timermane - Moore.

On March 20-21 the 1st International Science and Art Festival takes place in Riga, with a scientific conference as the core event, complemented by various culture and art events. “Ars Moriendi” or Art of Dying, is also a part of the art of living. because only the one who can truly live, can truly die. In this case, true living and true dying means living and dying in accordance with God. 20th century philosophers say that Christianity essentially eliminates death; in Christianity death does not exist because there is a resurrection and the transcendental world. But as it is known, this is far from the truth, and there are not only one, but even two deaths in Christianity. “Ars Moriendi” emerges as a response to the mid-14th century Plague that takes over Europe.
